Pole bean, snap or dry, edible 80 days to frost, Grow on 8' trellis. Prolific, resilient plants with pink-purple flowers turning into tasty purplish green pods with strings. Pods darken to purple brown at dry shelling stage with some shrinking around the seeds. The seeds are shiny purple when fresh turning black seeds when dry. Mine come back every year since I invariably miss a few pods or seeds that drop out so I grow these in the same bed every year. They seem to handle drought and light shading though you will get more under better conditions. Make good dry beans as well as fresh eating green beans. Plants continue to produce even when allowing pods to go to seed stage.
