Wild Galápagos, red

Organic Listing
The seed was obtained from a plant growing by the side of the road on Santa Cruz Island (Galápagos Islands, Ecuador). This is a very small fruited but prolific tomato, red-orange to red in color. The plant is rather diminutive, with very small leaves and flowers. The fruit is about the size of the end of your little finger. The flavor is a little different than the rest of the tomatoes I grow; the foliage also has a distinct odor. This is not Lycopersicon cheesmanii, the tomato usually identified as the “wild Galapagos tomato”; L. cheesmanii is a yellow to yellow-orange tomato. This tomato is likely L. pimpinellifolium. as it better fits that description and it is found in South America.
