DRY-BUSH
Bush bean, 9-15" tall. No pigmentation in stems or leaves. Pink flowers. Pods green when flat, yellow at shelling stage, shattering type when dry. Pods are pear-shaped in cross-section, short and straight, with medium, straight beak. Mature pods 3.5-5" long, 0.5" wide. Not a snap bean. As a shelling bean, has a green bean like flavor. 1-5 seeds per pod. Seeds piebald pattern, white base with dark red pattern. Dry beans have a mild, slightly sweet flavor and grainy texture. Early maturity when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by Everett Henson (NH HE E) who received the variety in 1993 from the Urie family of Craftsbury, Vermont after seeing the beans displayed at the 1993 Vermont farm show. It was named 'Boston Beauty' by Mrs. Urie and originally grown for several decades by her mother near Boston, Massachusetts. SSE Accession # 104264
