VEGETABLES / SWISS-CHARD
An unusual chard, in that it is very quick to bolt. Plants consistently behave as annuals at Heritage Farm and seem to require little to no vernalization. The first plants start bolting after about 60 days of sowing. This might be a good chard to try for growers in tropical and sub-tropical regions who want to save seeds. Leaves are light green and erect with narrow petioles. Very fine pubescence. Can be used as a cut and come again variety, as leaf buds are numerous at the crown. Good flavor before it bolts.
