AKA Rabbit's Ears, Crown Pink, Mullein Pink. An evergray perennial that deserves a spot in the landscape. Very attractive with its erect, white-gray flowering stalks covered with a profusion of glowing magenta trumpet-shaped flowers, it enjoys a long season of interest, is easy to grow, trouble free and not too fussy about soils or exposure. Does well without any supplemental watering, even (especially?) during long, rainless California summers in partial shade.Grows up to 18-24 in. tall (45-60 cm) and 18 in. wide (45 cm). Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural society, this plant is an excellent choice for dry gardens, cottage or wild gardens, meadows and the perennial border where it provides fabulous color and texture contrast. Low maintenance and highly disease-free, this plant is also drought tolerant and deer resistant.
