Verbena Bonariensis

Commonly referred to as “Lollipop Verbena”, this is a must for pollinator gardens! It is considered to be an annual in cooler climates- such as New England. But I’ve successfully grown it as a perennial for years. Care is easy, and will grow in a variety of conditions. It does require full sun though. My garden is clay, and so this has acclimated to drier conditions. But it grows perfectly in other types of soil. It’s not easy to give a description of this species, so please take a look at the photo, or Google it as well. Bumblebees and A. virescens (Bicolored Sweat Bee) are just two who love this plant! But it also attracts numerous species of butterflies. Another must for the Monarch due to it blooming until the first frost.
