This variety was collected in 2004 by Dr Phil Simmon, Dr Furkat Khassanov and Barbara Hellier (of the USDA). It was originally collected in the west Tien Shen, Ser Dar Ya Karatou Mountain Range, Kuyuk mountains, 20 km south of Jambu on the road to Tashkent. They got it from the Tashkent Botanic garden. I received these from Mason Welter and the description, I got from Barbara Hellier.
