British Queen

I got this from Seed Savers Exchange, Heritage Farm in 2024. Medium to large tubers with yellow skin and white cream flesh. Primarily elliptic in shape, with a few round or oblong. Average tuber length is 10 cm with an average width of 7.3 cm. Great uniformity with slight variation in shape and size. Productivity is also great, with just under 3 pounds per plant. Quite starchy with a great earthy flavor and a hint of sweetness. SSE Accession # 128196. Superb flavoured mashing potato originating in Scotland: It is very susceptible to blight but matures quite early so often avoids it. Bred by Archibald Findlay. 1894.
