P. grisea. Prostrate growth habit. Purple pigment extensive on stems, petioles, and leaf midribs. Plants 11-19" tall and 45-78" wide. Round, yellow fruit at maturity. Fruit 0.5-0.6" in length and diameter. Intermediate productivity and late season maturing when grown in 2014 at Heritage Farm. Fruit flavor slightly more tart than standard, but still sweet. This variety was donated to SSE by Suzanne Ashworth (CA AS S) in the mid 1990s. She received it from Will Bonsall (ME BO W) who first introduced it to the SSE Exchange via the 1984 Yearbook. It has since been listed by the SSE membership nearly continuously from 1984-2014. This variety came from the USDA collection (PI 305457) and is originally from the country of Sierre Leone.
