KENOSHA PASTE is a heirloom tomato from Sarnano, Region Le Marche. Sarnano is a town located on a hill not far from the shores of the Adriatic Sea, where in 1215 St.Francis lived for a couple of years; of course there were no tomatoes in Europe in the 12th century, but we feel that the spirit of St. Francis lives in these heirloom tomatoes. Latest picture addition on the SSE online exchange .. see a triple fruit (Each square of my background grid is half an inch). Double and triple fruit is possible with 'potato leaf' tomato varieties. Case in point, in August 2021 KUFI Farm org found a vine which produced a very different fruit. It is well understood that "potato leaved tomato vines" are prone to cross-pollination.. but in 2021 we only grew the KENOSHA PASTE variety, therefore we believe KENOSHA PASTE DRY to be a sport. The odd change is in the location of the seed pockets; where KENOSHA PASTE features small seed pockets usually in the bottom sides, KENOSHA PASTE DRY has a single "seed pod" in the center of the fruit. When you remove the seed pod, all that is left is very dry flesh, almost like a seedless pepper. We thank the spirit of St.Francis for this incredible tomato, which stores unrefrigerated for months. Easily past Christmas. We request $10 for this special seed, as we believe that you will give it additional care.
