Kuri, Blue

aka Hokkaido Stella Blue, Blue Kabocha 5 to 10 lb flattened fruits, slate blue skin with yellow to orange flaky drier flesh than green kabocha. Excellent for tempura, soups and stews, grated and made like latkes, as well as pumpkin gnocchi. Originally from Seeds of Change circa 2004. Plants are vigorous viners and do well in a milpa system or by themselves.
