VEGETABLES / TOMATO
RED
Large cherry or small pink plum tomato. Fruits average 1.75" long, 1.5" wide, and weigh 1-1.5 oz. Slightly ribbed along length, giving the fruits an angular, blocky shape. Commonly 6-10 fruits per infructescence. Good size for snacking or quartering. Indeterminate plants with dense, regular leaves. High vigor and productivity when grown at Heritage Farm in 2025. In 2007, Kimberly Thompson of Baskin, Louisiana, received a few seedlings of this cherry tomato variety as a gift from her lifelong friend and coworker, Monty G. Bradley of Winnsboro, LA. Monty’s grandmother, Mrs. Ida Belle Bradley (1912-1999), first obtained seeds of this variety from her neighbor, Mrs. Lucille F. Cassity (1911-1993), who had been growing it her entire life in Winnsboro, from seeds she received from her mother, Effie Louise Bradley (1885-1976). Effie Louise claimed this tomato variety had been in her family for generations. Ida Belle shared the seed with her son, Glynn Bradley, who gave seeds to his son, Monty, who then gave the seedlings to Kim. Kim donated this variety to SSE in 2021. SSE Accession # 133890
