VEGETABLES / BRUSSELS-SPROUTS
Small to medium-sized buds are firm, obovate to elliptic, and average 1–1.6" long and 0.8" wide. Bud density along light green stems is intermediate to high. Most plants with about 75% of the stem bearing enlarged buds. Green leaves with high leaf bloom. Light green petioles and midveins occasionally with blushed with anthocyanin. Asynchronous plants reached 34–41" tall and 26–36" wide in 2025 at Heritage Farm and were prone to lodging. Crunchy sprouts have a classic flavor and are delightful when sauteed. This Brussels sprout is the result of a breeding project pursued for decades by Heike-Marie Eubanks (OR EU H) of Myrtle Point, Oregon. “This is a variety I bred trying to dehybridize an expired hybrid, Stabolite F1, following Carol Deppe’s approach explained in her 1993 book Breed Your Own Vegetable Varieties,” Heike wrote. “I have been working on it for almost 30 years at my farm in Oregon using biodynamic growing practices.” Heike donated the variety to SSE in 2022. Long season. SSE Accession # 133911
