Iowa Blush

Single Image
FRUITS-BERRIES-NUTS / APPLE
The fruit is small and round. Skin is yellow with a light blush on the sun exposed side. Best used for fresh eating. Ripens in late October in Zone 4. DNA tested in 2023 and confirmed correct. In the 1850s, trees were brought from Dayton, Ohio to Iowa under the erroneous name ‘Yellow Bellflower.’ This apple was renamed to ‘Iowa Blush’ when the mistake was revealed. SSE Accession # 133999
