Good eating qualities; moderate sweetness; moderate acidity; good firm texture. Pink beefsteak; moderate green shoulders; slight ribbing on stem end; uniform shape; wide pedicel scar; few blemishes; attractive fruit weigh 0.5-1.3 lbs and measure 2.5-3" long and 3.3-4.8" wide. Potato leaf; indeterminate; tall leafy plants; style highly exserted. Fruit born singly. Moderately low productivity. Mid season maturity. Brix 6.0. pH 4.26. Donated to SSE by Jim Tjepkema (MN TJ J) introduced this variety in the exchange in 1989 after acquiring seeds from his uncle Jacob Tjepkema of Park Rapids, MN. Jacob shared the seeds with Jim in the late 1980s. Jacob had grown the variety since he acquired it from his German neighbor in Phillips, WI at least as early as 1950s. Jacob never had a name for the variety so Jim named it after him since he had grown it for so many years. SSE Accession # 123548
