A flavorful eggplant as there is. This large fruited variety is sweet, fruity, and firm, and the winner of the 2015 SSE eggplant taste evaluation. Lobed, slightly flattened light green fruits measure 3-5" long, 4-6" in diameter. Plants up to 2.5' tall. White flowers. Fruit, leaves, and branches have large prickles, which make harvesting this variety a challenge. But, the taste is worth the effort. Low productivity when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. Fair productivity and quite susceptible to verticillium wilt compared to other eggplant varieties in the 2024 HF eggplant trial. Mid-season.
