New England Aster

This is a mix of Purple and Pink flowers. Plants grow 3-4 feet tall and bloom in late summer. It’s a wonderful native plant for attracting pollinators to the garden. Seeds still have the fluffy pappus attached but this won’t affect their germination. Seeds germinate best with several weeks of cold stratification making them a good choice for winter sowing. I recommend pressing into the soil surface and covering lightly with a thin layer of fine soil or sand.
