Symphyotrichum novi-belgii. This aster grows 3 -4 feet tall and blooms late summer. Seeds are from Pink and purple flowered plants. The plants just hum with pollinators when in full blooms and they are a host for the Silvery Checkerspot and Pearl Crescent butterflies. Seeds still have the fluffy pappus attached but that won’t affect their germination. 30-60 days of cold, moist stratification is required so they are a good candidate for winter sowing.
