FRUITS-BERRIES-NUTS / APPLE
Organic Listing
I am making this seed available in hopes that someone will plant these apple seeds and the resulting tree will produce a new highly desirable, or at least somewhat tasty apple variety. And that I hope you will consider re-offering as grafting wood and/or seed here on the seed savers exchange.

Karmijn de Sonnaville: Carmine. Netherlands 1949. Coxe's Orange Pippin x Jonathan. (USDA Zone 5-9)
Is an apple variety bred in 1949 by Piet de Sonnaville of Wageningen Netherlands. Medium to large in size with orange red tan coloring over green yellow base color. Aromatic sweet tart nutty richly flavored. High in sugar and acidity that mellows when stored for a week or two. Good for fresh eating, cider and cooking. Tree is a moderately vigorous spur bearing variety which needs thinning to prevent overbearing from heavy fruit set. Fruit keeps for up to four months in cold storage. Has a tendency to drop fruit prematurely. (RARE, All I have to send is 10 seeds.) One of the best apples that I have tasted.
