White-green, blocky 4" cucumbers mature to a deep red-orange. Fruit have brown spines on prominently elevated warts and superficial ribbing. Pale green flesh. Crisp and flavorful even when large, rarely bitter. Good for slicing, salads, and pickling. Hardy and prolific, disease and drought resistant. Late maturing. Seed mature fruit measure 6-7" long, 3-3.5" wide. Donated to SSE in 2009 by Clarice (Edmonson) Cooper (KS CO A). Clarice and her late husband Auburn were among the original 12 members to attend the first SSE conference and campout in 1982 Missouri. This variety was grown by Clarice's Grandpa Edmonson as early as 1913. SSE Accession # 129496
