Mullein

Verbascum thapsis. A plant with a long history of medicinal use, Common Mullein has pretty yellow flowers atop up to 10 foot tall spikes! Mullein is a biennial, producing small plants with beneficial leaves the first year. The second year, they shoot up and this is when the flower spikes appear, the flowers are also medicinal.
