VEGETABLES / BEAN
UNSORTED-BEANS
In 1988, Irene McMurray Hall of Friday Harbor, Washington sent seeds of this variety to SSE member Mary Schultz (WA SC M). Mary was seeking heirloom varieties grown by Washington's pioneer settlers to honor the statehood centennial in 1989. Irene originally received the seeds from her father, Neil McMurray, who worked as a trimmer at Bloedell Mill on Lake Whatcom. Irene was told that the beans were given to her father in the 1930s by a Mr. Adkins of Bellingham, WA. SSE Accession # 102591
