Buttercrunch

Green butterhead. Some variation in degree of head formation, from absent to slightly heading. Tightly bunched inner leaves form a compact heart. Plants also vary in intensity of green color from medium to dark. Plants reach 5-7" tall and 10-12" in diameter and are vase shaped rather than the more typical round shape of butterheads. Very good flavor; crisp, juicy midribs. Resists bolting in the heat. Black seed. SSE Accession # 111599
