Pole lima. Fully expanded pods are straight to slightly curved and measure 2.75-4.15" long and 0.75-0.9" wide. Dry pods shattering type with 3-4 seeds per pod. Leaves ovate-lanceolate in shape. Seeds cordate to cuboid shaped with a smooth to moderately ridged seed coat. Seeds are medium to large in size. Seeds range in color from solid black, to solid maroon, to solid white, to white with black keel pattern. Moderate pod set and mid-season maturity when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by Richard and Mary Rahn (MI RA R). They acquired it in 1986 from Joe Richards (KY RI J), who introduced it into the 1985 SSE Exchange. Joe's great-grandfather, William Henry Conover, collected lima bean seeds as he walked back home to Adair County, KY from New Orleans after the end of the Civil War. SSE Accession # 112672
