Hubbard, Warted Green

C. maxima. Large hubbard type. A 2023 staff favorite! Beautiful dark bronze-green skin with gray blue-green striping extending from the blossom end. Rind is smooth but a little bumpy with mild corking. Medium orange flesh up to 2.6" thick. Variation in fruit size at maturity. Fruits measure 13.5-24.1" long, 9.3-12.8" wide, and weigh 11-32.7lbs. Sweet and creamy with a high moisture content. Absolutely delicious! Excellent storage quality. Moderately productive when grown in 2023 at Heritage Farm. SSE Accession # 119905
