Corado

Loose leaf. Dark green, spatulate leaves with a moderate red tinge. Slightly undulating leaf margin and heavy surface blistering. Good eating qualities. Crisp texture, good flavor. Slightly bitter. Black seeded. Acquired by SSE from Will Bonsall (ME BO W) who obtained the variety from Terry Sanders (TX SA T) in 1987. Originally brought to TX from Italy sometime before 1890.
