Aji Cristal

C. baccatum. This red pepper is hot with a lot of seeds. The skin is thick and it is very crunchy. It has a fruity flavor. The fruits are 1-1.5" wide, 3.5-4.5" long, and 0.5-1 oz. The plants grow 2.5-3' tall and the peppers start growing in an erect habit, maturing into the pendant position. This variety was highly productive in spite of disease during the 2021 planting at Heritage Farm. SSE Accession # 117565
