Plants indeterminate 3' tall with regular leaf type. Flowers have inserted stigmas. Round red fruit are 2" x 2". Small amount of blossom scarring and concentric cracking. Acquired by SSE from the Long Island Seed and Plant Co. This variety was bred at the Beaverlodge Research Station (Alberta, Canada). In a 1972 volume of the Canadian Journal of Plant Science, the station described the term "Sub-Arctic Type" as tomato cultivars with strong branch development, flower clusters between the fourth and six leaves, and the ability to set fruit at low temperatures.
