Black-Eyed Susan (ASTER)

FLOWERS / BLACK-EYED-SUSAN
A reliable, show-stopper that never disappoints. This native seed was collected from Pearly Acres, AR. It tolerates drought and self-seeds every year after the first bloom. The seeds can be planted in early spring, up to mid-summer (southern states), and late fall (overwintering). In the northern states, you can sow in fall (over-wintering). The plant grows up to 3 ft tall. Clumps should be divided every 3-5 years in fall (entering dormancy) or spring (exiting dormancy). Pollinators (honey and native bees, butterflies, beetles, and flies) love this daisy.
