Short, solid pale green to white fruit. White spines on prominent bumps. Moderate ribbing. Fruit become light yellow at seed maturity. Market mature fruit measure 3.1-5.4" long by 1.4-2.5" wide and weigh 3-9oz. Seed mature fruit reach 6.8-8" long by 2.7-3.5" wide. Mild flavor. Very crunchy. Thin skin. Pale green flesh. Mid-season maturing. Average productivity when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by Jon Thurston (ME TH J) of the Medomak Valley High School Heirloom Seed Project. It was first offered in the 1998 SSE Yearbook Exchange by the MVHS Heirloom Seed Project. This variety was maintained by the descendants of soldier/farmer Ephraim Hall since after the War of 1812.
