Cajun Jewel

Green pods have 6-9 ridges per fruit are straight and have downy hairs. Dry pods measure 5.5-7.5 inches long and 0.8-1 inch wide. Plants have petioles with red coloring on top. Flowers have red blotch on both sides. At Heritage Farm in 2016 plants were up to 2 feet tall. Above average productivity and earlier maturing in 2016 at Heritage Farm. Not particularly great for fresh eating. Acquired by SSE from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange (CV So1), who state that it has been a favorite in Cajun country since the 1950s. SSE Accession # 114038
