FRUITS-BERRIES-NUTS / PASSIONFLOWER
Passiflora incarnata. Egg-shaped fruits with seeds encased by pulp, ripe in October; incorrectly called wild melon or passionfruit. Vigorous vine with triple-lobed leaves; often dried as Passionflower for tea or smoking (sedative effects). Some say the name arose because the vine does not pop up from the ground until May; others say it came from the fruits, which may (and often do) pop loudly when stepped upon.
