Cucumis melo L. variety from China's famous Hami oasis in Xinjiang province. Seeds gifted to me by a Chinese friend and grown out in Summer 2025. According to a Japanese-Chinese research paper, there are four main varieties of Hami Gua. Based upon that paper, I identified this variety as "chandalak" which is a round melon that matures earlier than other varieties. My first ripe melon was 120 days after sowing or 110 days after seedling emergence. Very tasty. Five fruit averaged 1.5 pounds each and ~4-in diameter and round shape.
