C.-MOSCHATA
Buff-colored, cheese type squash with some variability in shape. Most fruit are large and flattened with medium ribbing. Others are smaller, more rounded, or even oblong with no ribbing. Fruit rind has a waxy, whitish cuticle. Flesh is a brilliant orange color and medium thickness. Good flavor. Moderately sweet, floral. High moisture, slightly stringy flesh. Brix 6.4. Very productive at Heritage Farm. Highly vining. Some leaf silvering. Cucurbita moschata. Resistant to powdery mildew. Donated to SSE by John Coykendall (TN CO J). He described it as an old variety and he acquired it from the Cook family of Tennessee. SSE Accession # 120882
