River Oats

Single Image
GRAINS / MISC-GRAINS
Chasmanthium latifolium; a Mo. native grass commonly found along streambanks and in low wooded areas. Considered by some botanists a warm-season grass because it sets seed in late summer; but others classify it as cool-season because it makes most of its growth in spring, and prefers some shade. Different subspecies than Sea Oats but can cross with them.
