Pink, pear-shaped fruit. Some fruit have light green longitudinal stripes. Indeterminate growth habit. Regular leaves. About one quarter of fruit are fasciated. Fruit locules are partially hollow. Slight to moderate ribbing extends entire length of fruit. Moderate concentric and radial cracking. 3-4 fruit per cluster. Paste tomato. Mild flavor. Fruit suffered from severe sun scald in 2015 growout at Heritage Farm. Fruit reach 2.6-3.6" long; 2.2-4" wide; and 0.3-0.8lbs. Brix score: 4.7. Flower stigma is even with stamen. Mid-season maturing. Donated to SSE in 2014 by Rodger Rollings of North San Juan, CA. Rodger has been maintaining this tomato variety on his You Bet Farm outside of North San Juan since the early 1980s (for about thirty years as of 2014). Rodger obtained the variety from his friend Arlo Acton of Olala Farm in Nevada City, CA. Arlo had purchased seed of the ‘New Zealand Paste’ tomato from J.L. Hudson Seed Company and had grown and saved seed from it for about five years before sharing it with Rodger. The J.L. Hudson company indicated that the variety was an heirloom from New Zealand.
