Morro Grande

Small, round fruit ripening from green to orange to bright red. Market mature fruit average 6.1cm long, 6.1cm wide, and 0.25lbs. Fruit born in bunches of two or three. Bitter tasting. May be best grown as an ornamental. Attractive plants, averaging 3 feet tall. Dull green leaves and small, white flowers. No prickles on fruit calyx. This variety was donated to SSE by Suzanne Ashworth. She got it from the California Rare Fruit Growers Inc. co-founder, John M Riley. SSE Accession # 109531
