DRY-POLE

Phaseolus vulgaris) Pole bean. Snap when young, otherwise dried bean. Very productive pole variety that yields 5 to 6 beans per pod on 6' or more vines. Plump, rounded, maroon-and-white beans are great in soups, where their creamy texture and hearty, nutty flavor really shine. Originally introduced to SSE by Glenn Drowns. It is superior in baked beans and also makes a fine shell bean.
