VEGETABLES / SQUASH
            C.-MOSCHATA

 Organic Listing
Not sure about this one. I received seed from a contact in Malaysia in 2000 and grew it out for the first time this year (2025). My contact described it as "a Malaysian pumpkin, quite small fruit with very creamy flesh. 10-12 weeks." However, "Lemak Manis" is more of a flavor profile than a variety name, and the plant in my garden is just ripening fruit now after 172 days. Appears to be a moschata, squat pear shaped fruit 6" by 6". Immature fruit are dark green with light green stripes and mottling, maturing to tan with orange and green stripes. Resembles a Fairy Squash, which is an F1 hybrid... The fruit isn't fully ripe yet, and I'm racing to get everything entered before the yearbook deadline, so if you are reading this in the print yearbook, check the online exchange for updated description and photos.
