VEGETABLES / COLLARD
Bred for tenderness and cold tolerance, as well as for its ability to produce a healthy seed crop in our humid climate. This is a very vigorous, productive and fast growing collard. Overwinters well with or without row cover (plant in September or October), and is slow to bolt in the spring. Can also be planted in the spring. Bred at Even’Star farm in Maryland.
For my zone 7A garden, I am able to spring plant and it does just fine through hot humid summers, and overwinters without cover.
I can also plant in fall with no issue.
