Banana, Pink

Cucurbita maxima. A long pink squash that grows to approx. 18-24", and vines will be long, so give it room. It is also the only winter squash that I grow that I've never have a problem with squash beetle damage, and it's a very vigorous, healthy plant. Plant as soon as 1-2 weeks after your last frost date, as this squash needs the full 120 days for maturity, but it stores well for about 4 months, if cured. This is one of my favorite winter squashes for cooking, baking and canning. Not too watery, brilliant orange flesh and the taste is amazing.
