Tiny! Farthest north growing of all wild chiles. Native to western Texas, Chihuahua, Foothills of Sonoran Rockies 1,500-3,500 ft. Grows in Arroyos, alluvial fans, mountains. Tiny (100 fruits/oz). Oval to round. Hotter than a blister on a Sunspot! Capsicum aviculare. Perennial plants live 10-15 years. I grow them in pots, take into the greenhouse in late October, bring out to garden in mid-late July. Begins to bloom in mid-August, green chiles by mid-September. Ripen in greenhouse in mid-late November. 30 days green, 120 days to red ripe. Ripen mid-late November through early January.
