Plants average 3.5-4.5' tall. Snow pea type. Pods remain constricted at maturity. Standard flavor. Shelling peas are bitter when swollen. Large, curved pods average 3.3-4.2" long and 0.8-1.1" wide. Purple-red flowers and pigmented stipule ring. Few basal branches. Non-shattering dry pods. Large, slightly wrinkled seeds are grey with purple speckling. Dry peas are sweet with a meaty, tannic flavor and good texture. Peas swell to a large size and lose their pattern. Mid-season maturing. SSE Accession # 115227
