Voth's Russian

Light green with dark green stripes. Variable in size and shape. Shape ranges from round to oblong. Fruit measure 7-10" long, 7-11" wide, and weigh 10-15lbs. Pink flesh. Sweet and juicy with good flavor. Brix score: 10.0. Rind 0.4-0.6" thick. Black dotted seeds. Intermediate productivity when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. Bob Woronick of Texas donated this variety to SSE in 1988. Bob shared that the variety was brought from Russia to the U.S. where it has been maintained by the Voth family for more than 110 years (as of 1988). Bob received the variety from Fern Pounds of Elmwood, OK. SSE Accession # 127844
