From SSE, grown commercially in Bethany, MO area from the 1950s through the 1980s. Unusually high rate of tricotyledon seedlings, giving way to distinctive rugose foliage, making this variety easy to identify among others. Bushy, semi-determinate plants about 1 meter tall maximum, but sets fruit over a period of time. Good for field cultivation and market gardens; possible substitute for Early Girl hybrid. Round, shiny, small-medium size fruit; no visible disease problems; hope to grow a great deal more of this variety next year.
