VEGETABLES / CORN
UNSORTED-CORN
White corn with gourdseed-type kernels; stabilized from a grex of Texas Gourdseed and other genetics by Richard Gerwitz (East Wind Gardens, Tecumseh, MO). Dense kernels good for hominy, cornmeal, etc.; stalks about 2.5-3m; cobs fairly soft. Resembles, but does not directly descend from, the gourdseed corn grown by settlers of Ozark river valleys before the Civil War. Approximately 110-115 days. From Eric Tumminia, cousin of MO MU S, and neighbor to the famous original Hodgeson Mill in Sycamore, MO.
