Donated to SSE in 1981 by John Withee of the Wanigan Associates. Withee received the variety in 1978 from Ralph Stevenson (MI ST R) who had obtained it from the Arthur King family in Michigan. It was grown by the King family since at least the 1870s. SSE Accession # 101304
