Donated to SSE in 1981 by bean collector John Withee of Lynnfield, Massachusetts and the Wanigan Associates. Withee received this variety in 1977 from Harmon A. Poole of Litchfield, Connecticut. Mr. Poole's grandchildren purchased seeds in Nairobi, Kenya in 1977 and brought them to the United States when they visited their grandfather that year. SSE Accession # 101216
