SNAP-POLE
Pole. Dry bean. Plants have a strong twining tendency. White flowers. Immature green pods become pale yellow and develop faint, light red dashes and stripes with maturity. Slightly curved, flat pods with a medium beak length. Moderate constriction of seeds. Mature pods average 3.75" long by 0.4" wide. Suture string present, not considered a snap bean by SSE staff but listed as snap bean by donor. Sweet and flavorful as a shelling bean. Easy to shell. Leathery dry pods average 6-7 seeds per pod. Pinto bean. Dry bean has a slightly sweet flavor and soft texture. Early maturing. Donated to SSE by Charlotte Hagood (AL HA C) who received the variety from David Ship of Boaz, Alabama in 2002.
