Butterhead. Relatively large plants form a moderately well-developed, elliptic head. Yellow-green, round leaves have moderate surface blistering. Smooth margins. Market mature plants 6-8" tall by 13-15" wide. Largest leaves measure 6-8" long by 6-8" wide. Standard butterhead texture and flavor. Black seeded. Average time to bolting when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by William Woys Weaver (PA WE W) who acquired it from Arche Noah. Introduced in the early 1900s. SSE Accession # 112470
